Welcome to the new age of tuning computerized vehicles. Over the years the coming of the computer did marvels for the automotive industry. Unfortunately, workshops lost all control over the tuning of these vehicles. Even the slightest idling problem cannot be cured by the non-franchised workshop. In most cases even the authorized agents cannot cure these problems. In short, the tuning of computerized vehicles became nearly impossible.

The UNICHIP gives the properly trained technician full control over the timing and mixture functions of most electronically controlled vehicles. Not only can mixtures and timing be set, but can also be set under various load and RPM conditions. This allows for the optimization of the vehicle for economy under light load conditions and sets it up for optimum performance under full-throttle conditions.

The UNICHIP is much more than just a "chip". In fact, it is a fully functioning computer which is added to the vehicle's existing engine control unit (ECU). Apart from controlling general timing and mixtures, it can regulate idling control, drive extra injectors, fully manipulate timing functions and eliminate road speed governors. It can be accurately described as a "Piggyback" computer.

The UNICHIP is wired into the existing ECU harness. Should it be removed, the vehicle will return to standard functionality. Unlike other after-market units, when the UNICHIP is programmed with zeros, the vehicle will operate as standard. Only areas specified by the driver and operator need be altered.

What makes the UNICHIP unique above other after-market "chips" is that it provides for the opportunity to optimize the performance of almost any make and model of vehicle.


The U-connect system is a wiring harness that enables the complete Unichip installation without cutting or tampering with the original wiring harness of the vehicle. You simply unplug the ECU wiring and install this system between the male and female plugs. All the necessary original male and female plugs are included in the harness. In this way you can add or remove the complete Unichip system whenever you want. Once removed there will be no footprint or trace of the original installation at all. The U-connect is available for most electronically controlled diesel vehicles and some petrol versions.

Launch control is generally used on turbocharged vehicles to allow the turbo to boost whilst the vehicle is stationary. A switch is connected to the clutch pedal (if the vehicle does not already have one) and when the clutch is depressed the Unichip lowers the original rev limiter. The engine is then kept at full throttle with the lowered rev limit enabling the turbo to start boosting.

Once the clutch is released the rev limiter is set back to standard and the vehicle pulls away with full boost (or however much boost you want).

On most vehicles the Unichip can do launch control without any added devices but on some we add extra driver modules to control the ignition coils.


The optional Turbo module is normally used on aftermarket turbocharger installations. It can measure boost which the Unichip can then use to control extra injectors or other devices or do closed loop boost control. There are two versions available, one that can measure up to 1.5 bar boost and another that can measure up to 2.5bar boost. The Turbo module also includes an injector driver and voltage clamping circuit to prevent certain signals from going to high if an aftermarket turbocharger is fitted to a vehicle.


The X-driver system is an additional module that is controlled by the Unichip and is used to open up the injectors of the vehicle for longer periods to add extra fuel. Versions are available for petrol and some diesel engines.

EGT Unit

The EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) unit is an optional extra normally used on diesel engines to control the EGT to safe limits. With this option installed the power can be safely increased even more and if the EGT goes too high the Unichip will automatically trim back the power to get the EGT back into the safe range.


The Nitrous driver enables the Unichip to fully control nitrous oxide injection systems.


The I-driver (Intelligent driver) system is also a fully functioning computer similar to the X-driver system described above but can be used to make the original injector times longer AND shorter. It can also be used on some vehicles to raise the rev limiter as well as create a full sequential extra injector driver system for extreme turbo applications.
